I have some copies of the sister of my GGGGGG Grandfather Joseph Madera (1684 - 1734). Her name is "Manuela Madera" Copy of her bautismo June 23, 1686:
http://oi58.tinypic.com/28jgpoz.jpg
Her parents are my GGGGGGG Grandparents Antonio Madera and Maria De La Candelaria.
This is where I ask any of nuestros ranchos members about where it says "Manuela de Antonio de Los Angeles" Antonio de Los Angeles could be referring to where my GGGGGGG Grandfather Antonio Madera was from? "Los Angeles?" is there a town name Los Angeles and where is it? My GGGGGGG Grandparents Antonio Madera and Maria De La Candelaria resided in Minillas, Mesquitic, Jalisco, Mexico.
In 1707 She was Madrina with her brother (Juan or Joseph? Can't read or make it out). It says "con su hermana Manuela Madera:

She got married in on March 2, 1709 with Xristobal Robles:

She passed away in 1738:
Manuela Madera (1686 - 1738)
Here is another reference about "de Antonio De Los Angeles"
My GGGGGGG Grandparents Antonio Madera (1660 - 1709) and Maria De La Candelaria Angon (1655 - 1735) were padrinos in year 1686 to "Pablo de Antonio De Los Angeles"
http://oi58.tinypic.com/2i1yxzk.jpg
First they have a daughter "Manuela de Antonio De Los Angeles" where her surname is Madera. Now they are padrinos to a Pablo de Antonio De Los Angeles.
Is "Antonio De Los Angeles" a place?
Manuela Madera (1686 - 1738)
I found a reference that "San Antonio De Los Angeles" is a rancho. Here is someone that says:
"Nicolas mestizo rancho de antonio de los angeles"

Source is "Bautismos 1667-1686 Matrimonios 1667 - 1686 Defunciones 1668-1686" of San Juan Bautista of Mezquitic Catholic Church records.
Since my GGGGGGG Grandparents have also been mentioned residing in Minillas...is Rancho De San Antonio De Los Angeles a rancho under jurisidicion of Minillas?
Manuela Madera (1686 - 1738)
As it turns out, Manuela's husband Christobal de Robles is brother to my ancestor, Juan.

Manuela Madera (1686 - 1738)
do you know if candelaria had a last name or not?
Manuela Madera (1686 - 1738)
No, that's how her name is written, "Maria De La Candelaria" nothing more. Also don't know who her parents are. Thanks Katy for asking.
Manuela Madera (1686 - 1738)
Maria de la Candelaria's last name is Angon. Have a look at the right side of this image, which is from a dispensation of a descendant of Antonio and Maria de la Candelaria's daughter, Maria (she is married to Antonio Navarrete):
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18412-32650-77?cc=1874591&wc…
The dispensation begins here (it's for Joseph Manuel de Castilla and Maria Guadalupe de la Trinidad de Robles, a descendant of Maria Manuela and her husband, Christobal Robles:

My Madera ancestor is Lorensa Madera, wife of Juan Martin Suares del Real.
I hope this helps!

Manuela Madera (1686 - 1738)
interesting rosalinda. i wonder how our ancestor lorenza madera relates to antonio madera. all I know is that lorenza's mother's name is francisca avila
also maybe 'los angeles' refers to santa maria de los angeles.
Manuela Madera (1686 - 1738)
I've reviewed Madera's research, and I'm fairly certain that Lorenza is connected to this Madera family. Apparently, one of his ancestors married into the Avila family, just like Lorenza's unnamed father. This unnamed man most likely is a son/brother of Antonio Madera and Maria de la Candelaria Angon.
I thought that "Los Angeles" could refer to Maria de los Angeles, but it could also refer to some ranch named "Los Angeles" that is now lost to history.
Madera: do you have a document showing the connection between Joseph Madera and his parents, Antonio Madera and Maria de la Candelaria Angon?
Rosalinda
Manuela Madera (1686 - 1738)
Thank you Rosalinda! Regarding my ancestor that married into the Avila family? That is my GGGGG Grandfather Blas Madera who married Maria Theresa Avila. They resided in Minillas then they moved over to Rancho De Los Madera of Huejuquilla El Alto where they had two sons Francisco Madera (1723 - 1790) and Lazaro Madera. I am branched from Francisco Madera.
Regarding Xristobal Robles with Manuela Madera:
It is image(page) 129 of (Bautismos 1701-1721) of San Juan Bautista, Mezquitic , Church Records:

I am so grateful that you found the surname of my GGGGGGG Grandmother Maria De La Candelaria (1655 – 1735) and it is Angon. I vaguely remember seeing that surname “Angon” when I was looking at the archive of “Cofradias 1632 – 1700” of Huejuquilla El Alto which is nearby Minillas Mezquitic where my GGGGGGG Grandparents (Antonio Madera 1660 – 1709?, Maria De La Candelaria Angon 1655 – 1735) resided at Minillas. We moved over to Rancho De Los Maderas when my GGGGG Grandparents Blas Madera/Maria Theresa Avila of Minillas moved over to Rancho De Los Maderas of Huejuquilla El Alto.
The surname “Angon” When I was looking at the archive of “Cofradias 1632 – 1700” I saw name of a person that owned a rancho in 1633 and his or her name is “Joan Angon” Here is a copy by chance that I made when I saw it and where it says, “Rancho De Joan de Angon.” I have it underlined in green for you to see. Could that person be related to my GGGGGGG Grandmother Maria De La Candelaria Angon?
http://oi57.tinypic.com/qp5x82.jpg
I found that on image (page) 7 of (Cofradias 1632 – 1700), San Diego (Parroquia) of Huejuquilla El Alto, Jalisco:

I also found a link that has “Angon”

Maria de la Candelaria Angon
Madera (sorry-- I don't know your first name):
Do you have a document showing the connection between Joseph Madera and his parents, Antonio Madera and Maria de la Candelaria Angon?
I suspect people with the last name Angon are related to each other; it's an unusual last name, in an area which was sparsely populated. How she is connected to Joan de Angon, I couldn't say, but Joan was an old way of spelling Juan. Since the Cofradias image is from 1633, Maria de la Candelaria may be a daughter or granddaughter of this Joan de Angon. Perhaps there is a will somewhere that may make this clear.
I have two additional Angon women in my tree:
Luisa de Angon, married to Leonardo Sanches Castellanos
Maria de Angon, married to Nicolas de Rojas Vertis
The last name Angon may also be spelled as Argon; I have
Francisco Antonio Argon, married to Maria Josefa Dolores de Avila
Francisca de Argon, married to Xptobal Ortiz
The time frame makes it difficult to find documents to help us, although there are documents out there, I'm sure.

Marriage record of my GGGG Grandfather Francisco Madera in the year 1760 who got married with Maria Leocadia Huizar in Huejuquilla El Alto. It states he is the son of Blas Madera and Maria Theresa Avila. This is the time period when there was a move from Minillas to Huejuquilla.

Francisco Madera also had a brother name Lazaro Madera. I have posted them in nuestrosranchos in the past. They resided in Rancho De Los Maderas of Huejuquilla El Alto.
I am curious that you found the information in an archive of Guaddalajara. I wonder if the baptismo or other records of my GGGGGGG Grandparents Antonio Madera (1660 - 1709?) and Maria De La Candelaria (1655 - 1735) are there in that archive even though they resided in Minillas, Mezquitic.
Maria de la Candelaria Angon
The marriage dispensas were sent to the Diocese as couple were required to obtain them under certain circumstances (either blood or spiritual relationship, from another location, or some other reason). The film images I reference are the Diocesan copy, although I have seen some of the local parishes keep a copy, but many don't. I've not seen any bautismo records in the dispensas, although sometimes a copy is made from the local parish's records if it is needed for the dispensa.
These dispensas hold great genealogical information; sometimes the information can help expend a tree during a time when other records are difficult to find, like the dispensa I linked for you: that dispensa showed how two branches descend from the main couple, Antonio Madera and his wife, Maria de la Candelaria Angon.
There are many other kinds of archives that haven't digitized their records, which means a personal visit is in order, if possible. Arturo Ramos, who runs this website, once identified land and water records located in Guadalajara that have been helpful-- since your ancestor owned land, perhaps that is a place to explore as well.
