Muchas gracias!

I have a question about the identity of Joseph de Santana at the end of the 17th century and beginning of the 18th.
1)Does anyone have the marriage certificate for Joseph de Santana's marriage to Juana Bueso? I am almost positive she is Juana Lopes-Bueso, daughter of Nicolas Lopes-Bueso and Nicolasa Guerrero y Ocón, but I can't prove it yet.
2) In 1719 a Joseph de Santana married Efigenia de Zambrano in Tuxcacuesco. It says he is a widower of Maria Gonzalez-Corona. I think these two Josephs are the same person does anyone have his marriage to Maria Gonzalez-Corona?
3) Lastly, I also have a Capt. Joseph de Santana as a witness at several baptisms around 1700 in Autlan.
Thanks!
Joseph de Santana
Hello Sergio,
The two Joseph de Santana's you speak of are not the same person. The first Joseph you speak of that is married to Juana Lopes Bueso is my 9th GreatGrandfather and I have recently been working on that line. I found a death record for that Joseph that states he died in Tecolotlan on 25 November 1717 and was indeed married to Juana Lopes Bueso.
They were the parents of the 2nd Joseph de Santana you speak of that was married to Maria Gonzalez Corona. You are right he married a 2nd time with Efigenia de Zambrano in 1719 and married again in 1724 to Efigena Garcia de Alba. He died in Ejutla on 24 September 1747. I could not find a marriage record for Maria Corona, but here is a link to the marriage record with Efigenia Garcia de Alba:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18715-10103-83?cc=1874591&wc….
Also you'll find a genealogical tree in the Diocesis of Guadalajara, Marriage Dispensas that shows Joseph Santana was the son of Juana Huezo who was the daughter of Nicolas Huezo. Here is that link:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18414-37063-10?cc=1874591&wc…
I don't know about the Captain though.
Hope that helps!

Document for Joseph de Santana
Thanks Juan!
That was extremely helpful! Clearly they are not the same person, since the fisrt died in 1717 and the second was getting married in 1719 and 1724.
My only question is whether you have a document that proves that the second Joseph de Santana is the son of the first?
Thanks!
Sergio Salés
Thanks!
Never mind, the dispensa was sufficient, since it showed Jose de Santana as son of Juana Bueso, and thus with the last name it can be safely deduced that he was indeed the son of Joseph de Santana and Juana Lopes Bueso.
Thanks again!

Your Welcome!
Glad I could help.

tomo de manos
hola,
