In my last introduction, I did not have a genealogy file folder set up. It is located under "Stofleth" under the "Member Genealogies" link of the "Files" tab - or at http://www.nuestrosranchos.org/azua-stofleth.
My wife's grandfather is from Rincon de Romos, Aquascalientes - his name was Joaquin Azua (1891-1984). Joaquin's wife was Domatila Guerra (1891-1969). I have traced their roots in this area back to the mid/early 16th Century. She also has northern New Mexico roots that extend back into Zacatecas and Jalisco. I will post these conncetions when I can make them tractable.
Please take a few moments to look at my file and see if there are connections with your own - I would be very interested in learning more about the history and population of this area.
I have spent many hours reading through scanned images on the LDS website for San Jose de Gracia - I think I know everyone by name by now who lived between 1800 and 1900 - OK, almost everyone; ...and am learning new Spanish/Portuguese words.
Thank you all for allowing us to join.
