RE: Alteño Surnames - BENAVIDES-ARABIC/JEWISH ?

Hello Jan and Alicia ,ok which school of thought is correct ? Is Benavides Jewish or Arabic Surname. I don't know why I tend to go with the Arabic thought due to the way it spells out.Prima Alicia in the conference did Maria Benavides line have any thing to do with the Benavides Line that settled in orthern Mexico and Texas if so how ?
