hi John,
I'm guessing that the name was originally Ojo de Agua de Rosales. Here it is on this map. I would place by place do a place search on the www.familysearch.org site and see which closest location was big enough to support a church.

Does anyone in the group have Puentes or Puente in their family that are
currently living today. I mean somewhere in your genealogy you know that
a Puente or Puentes line ties into your family and you happen to know
living Puentes today that are from that Puente line? REason???: I want
to try to do Y-DNA with those Puentes to see if we're related.
I know that several have this surname but I don't know if you know
people living today with that name that you know are related to you.
thanks,
joseph

Hi Joseph! Long time!!!
Anyway, did you say you wanted scans of documents we had copied, like, any
scans, or did you want specific areas?
I have some good ones from Tlaltenango de Sanchez Roman, Zacatecas of my
great-grandfather, ggg, gggs, etc.
(By the way, I also posted a new pic in my file of him, Baudelio Aguirre,
born 1885). Let me know and I'll scan what
I have....
thanks, take care!

Scans of Documents
Peggy:
Good to see you posting again. We missed you there for a while. It was me who asked for people to post scans and old photos. I am hoping to do some upgrades to the site over the next few months and I would like to get the site to be more genealogy-looking and to include scans and photos of actual members from around our area. Now the site's logo is based on random photos and scans that I had (only from Totatiche)...
Any recent breakthroughs?
Thank you for the documents and photos.
Scans of Documents
Hi Arturo!
Yes, in the past year I found that my maternal grandmother's family, which I
thought was only from Coahuila (Sierra Mojada) actually came from Noria de
Angeles, Zacatecas! I was very happy about because I now feel deeply deeply
rooted to that state (Zacatecas). So, do you want the scans of civil
registro records? I can scan my documents (birth records) that I have from
Noria de Angeles and Tlaltenango de Sanchez Roman, too, if you'd
like.....oh, and the photo of my great grandfather, Baudelio Aguirre, is
from Tlaltenango de Sanchez Roman.
I missed posting, too, although I faithfully read all the emails from my
fellow researchers every day. I even may have found a link with fellow
member George Godoy...I have Godoy in my paternal line...so that was very
cool.
How would you include that scans/photos? That very cool and I appreciate
all the work you put into the site.

Use of Photos and Scans
Peggy, et al.
I am basically looking to pull interesting text (names of places and perhaps certain key phrases) out of the documents and to create collages out of the photos. Ideally I will have so many that we can rotate the collage either randomly or from time to time...
I would basically like to make the site look more professional and sophisticated and to have it reflect the collective research and history of its members... i.e. it is much better to have photos of our actual ancestors than of random people from stock photos, don't you think?

I don't have Puente in my family line but I do know a family living in
California with that last name...would you like to be connected to them???

sure pass on the information and I'll call or email them. Are there
roots from Jalisco? Are they from Long Beach? I know the Puentes in Long
Beach, Fresno, San Jose, and Oregon.
thanks much,
joseph

Hi Joseph,
The family Puente that I know live in Hawaiian Gardens...I know one of the
daughters, who I graduated from High School in, her name is Maria Puente...I
believe she still lives there with her husband and children, as well as her
parents. I remember her telling me that she is from Jalisco. So as soon as
I see her, I will ask her for her phone number or email and then I will pass
it on to you..ok??
