Hi Simona,

That's Joan hijo de Do Machon de Orutia (Diego Machon de Orrutia) y de Maria de Sotomayor (aka Maria de Vela). Padrinos Po de Uma (Pedro de Umendia) and Franca Medina.

Saludos!

Diego Machon de Orrutia

thanks Manny, I don't remember seeing this name and then I saw another record with Urrutia. Is Machon part of the surname?

Diego Machon de Urrieta

Hello,
I have listed Don Diego Machon de Orrutia as the grandfather of my 11th GGrandmother Brigida Ortiz de Urrutia (1618-1670) but my research ends at Brigida so no documentation passed that.
Does anyone have confirmation of their relationship? or that his Don Diego is the same?
Thanks,
Maven

Hi Simona,

Yes, Machon is part of the surname, and Urrutia is the correct spelling. Look in RMB’s Diccionario, p 375.

Maven, did your Brigida Ortiz de Urrutia live in San Luis Potosi? If so, I’ll keep my eyes open.

Saludos,

Hi manny,
Brigida was born in fresnillo in 1680 and died in Tlaltenango in 1670. It's possible her parents were from SLP~ Maria Bernal de Zúñiga, and Hernando Machado Rangel.
Thanks!

Born in 1680 and died in 1670? I am assuming you meant died in 1770, at ninety.

DON DIEGO MACHON de Urrutia

Hi rick,
I meant born 1618, died 1670 for Beatriz Ortiz de Urrutia y Machon. I don't have dates for Dn. Diego Machon.
Best,
MAVEN
