Ok I need help from the group. Can anyone help me find my grandfather
Antonio Cortez Hernandez....born in Matansas Jalisco the year 1909. His parents were Jose Refugio Cortez and Alejandra Hernandez.
I am also looking for my grandmother Ma Manuela Alvarado Ortiz born in 1913 also in Matansas Jalisco. Her parents were Lorenso Alvarado and Francisca Ortiz.
Antonio Cortez Hernandez was married to Ma Manuela Alvardo Ortiz.
I also have one more question. Can anyone give me advice on how to look for my uncle Eusebio Cortez Alvarado born in Matansas Jalisco. He was my fathers only brother and last I heard he lived in Gonzales Tamaulipas or Manuel Tamaulipas. I just need advice on how I can search for him. I have been looking for him for the past 3 years and have had not luck.

For your parents and probably grandparents birth records of Matanzas you probably need to go to Ojuelos de Jalisco, or find someone that will go for you, to request a copy of the birth certificate. Or you can wait until records show up on pilot.familysearch.org
If you have a relative or friend in Mexico that has Telmex they should be able to access the white pages online for Tamaulipas using their account. I don't know how else you would find a phone book for those towns unless you went there yourself.

To Maria Cortes:
In the time period you are looking at, I think your best bet at locating
your grandparents would be the 1930 Mexico Census. The original images are
available online at

I looked in a book titled Census Records for Latin America and the Hispanic
United States written by Lyman D. Platt and there are only Censuses for
Ojuelos from 1817 to 1825, they are probably Padrones. Lagos de Moreno about
the same distance in the opposite direction from Matanzas as Ojuelos has a
more recent census (padron most likely) of 1874 and another in 1810 the
first film 221884 and the second 83. Lagos which is the same as Lagos de
Moreno in the book has padrones in 1820, 1824, & 1831 films: 168822, 168833,
and 168847-48 respectively.

Actually Antonio Cortez and Ma Manuela Alvarado...they were my grandparents they are both deceased. I'm doing Geneology on them I can not find them anywhere so I need help to find any records on them. They were both born in Matansas Jalisco.
Eusebio Cortez Alvarado is my uncle I'm not even sure if he is still alive...I'm just trying to see if I can track him down. I did know that my father had one brother and when I found out 3 years ago....that is when I started my search for him in Gonzalez Tamaulipas or Manuel Tamaulipas but still no luck.
Thanks
Cortes.
looking for Cortez Alvarado
For Maria Cortes: my advice is that once you located the place, Matansas, try related web sites like Panoramio or use Google Earth, some people use tu upload pictures of family or of places, you could try to contact some using the mail adresses in those pictures; other way is to look for clubs in the U. S. A., also social reunion events annouced in the web, from that place. For location and some info use pueblos.america.com site. Hope it is a help. Take care. Always be precautios.
Greetings from Leticia Leon.

Thank you I will try the website. For my grandparents...I have no one in Mexico that can help me so I guess I will have to wait for them to get posted at Family History Reasearch.
Thank you all.

I have looked in pilot 1930 census but Matansas Jalisco is not listed. Ojuelos de Jalisco is the Municipal and I have looked in both places Family Search and Nuestro Rancho but the years are not listed in Nuestro Rancho and I can find them in Family Search.
I got my dad B-Certificate from Ojuelos de Jalisco because he was also born in Matansas but that was 3 years ago. I have not been back since then due to work and time.
Cortez Alvarado
I see what you mean when you say they aren't listed in Nuestros Ranchos but that you can find them in Family Search.
Matanzas - http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library/fhlcatalog/printing/titledetail…
Ojuelos - http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library/fhlcatalog/printing/titledetail…

I made a mistake of assuming Nuestros Ranchos has a complete listing of Ojuelos de Jalisco. I found that there are records for both Matanzas and Ojuelos de Jalisco for the years you are asking about. Have you looked at all of the ones listed at Family History Library Catalog for those years?
Matanzas - http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library/fhlcatalog/printing/titledetail…
Ojuelos - http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library/fhlcatalog/printing/titledetail…

Finding Living Relatives: was - Cortez Alvarado
I'm not sure I'm understanding your question but it sounds like you are
looking for living relatives and or their children. One way is to get a
phone book from that area of Mexico and specifically that city and then
call all the Cortez Alvarado's first then if you have a good calling
plan for inexpensive calls to Mexico (try http://stiphonecard.com/ I
have found them very cheap) try calling every Cortez in that city giving
much information about you and finally asking if their Cortez might be
the same Cortez.
just an idea for searching for living relatives.
