"Something to remember about the book: 1) most of these letters were written
VERY soon after conquest...and the real flood of immigrants I think came a
bit later (The Romo de Vivars and Ruiz de Esparzas didn't immigrate until
the late 16th or early 17th centuries and really didn't play a factor in
this community at
the time of these letters); 2) many of these letters are from
Mexico proper and Puebla, with a few outliers in Zacatecas, probably because
few letters were collected from the sparsely populated new frontiers; and 3)
the book does include letters from Central and South America.
All in all, a worthwhile publication if you have EARLY immigrants."

Connie,
According to what I know about Andres he was tried by the Inquisition in 1581. I have a copy of the document from the Inquisition records, but it's difficult to read since I don't read spanish very well.

Luz Montejano's book: Hermosillo--Att:Connie Dominguez
Juanita,
Thanks for your note. Yes, it is a great book. That was a tremendous amount of work and it was a job well done. I protect my signed copy well. :-)
I wish you luck on your search. I have so many films at the local FHC, but I've had such a hard time getting there. I look forward to going in the summer. They're only open 1 evening a week, and invariably I forget to head out there for some reason or other. I'm working on Aguascalientes in the 17th c. and don't have much on later generations except my direct lines.
During summer, I will have days to work on genealogy at the FHC. If you need anything from any of the films I've listed on Ranchos, please let me know. I'll look through them.
Best wishes, wrote:

HELLO CONNIE,
GOT THE BOOK FROM JUST DOWN THE HIGHWAY FROM ME. UT-EDINBURG-MY ALMA MATER. I WAS AWARE THEY HAD A LOT ON NE MEXICO AND TEXAS, BUT HAD NOT SEENTHAT ON THEIR LIBRARY.
WHAT A GREAT BOOK IT IS. FROM ONE SHORT PARAGRAPH YOU CAN GET SEVERAL GENERATIONS. I SAW A LOT OF MY PEOPLE THERE. UNFORTUNATELY, THE INFORMATION I AM SEEKING WAS NOT THERE AND IT GOES BACK A GOOD WAYS. ON THE INTRODUCTION IT STATES THAT IT IS ONLY A FRACTION OF ALL THE ROLLS THEY HAVE TO PUT OUT. WHAT A JOB WELL DONE!
I WAS ABLE TO VERIFY A LOT OF INFORMATION ON THE PEOPLE I HAVE, SO I SPENT MANY NIGHTS BROWSING THRU IT. I RETURNED IT TODAY. AM LOOKING FOR OTHER CHURCH DOCUMENTS THAT I MIGHT GET THRU THE LIBRARY LOAN SYSTEM.
I WILL NOT FORGET YOUR KIND OFFER!!!

Luz Montejano's book: Hermosillo--Att:Connie Dominguez
Connie, I was reading your email and was excited to see someone who is
researching Aguascalientes. I'm also working on that area and am having
trouble. I also have read the emails about a book by Luz Montejano. I'm
wondering if the title is Hermosillo, or is there another title. I tried to
research some of the names used in the emails, but haven't found the actual
title or book. I'm wondering if you would be so kind as to give me some idea
as to where and what I can use to find information for Augas, and the title of
the book. I've used Ancestry, LDS etc. I've tried Nuestros but am so new to
this site that I'm not finding much and get discouraged. Thank you for your
time. Lupe

Connie, my name is Daniel A. Esparza, I have just joined Nuestros Ranchos and I am trying to find information on my Grandfather Crispin Esparza. I have heard stories that he was possibly born in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes. His birth date is: 16 April 1887, he died on 22 March 1956 in Gilroy, CA. I retrevied this information from death certificate.
I read your email to Juanita and noted that you talk about a "Book". Can you please share any light on what the books is all about and how I might be able to get one to do more research on Aguascalientes. Many thanks.
