Hola to you!
I spoke to my father today and he told me that the Gutierrez family had a Rancho El Monte in Acatic. My De La Torre's had tha Rancho El Sauz. I have been to Acatic, Tepa, etc visiting family when I was a youngster. My dad also said that his parents were married in the Church in Acatic. I had an Aunt Clementina from Acatic. In my fathers family my dad and one uncle took the last name Gutierrez, my other uncle took the name De La Torre. I have pictures of Rancho El Sauz, or what was left of it taken in 1980 the last time I was in Acatic. My Aunt Esperanza said all of the land has been sold off probably in 2000. I know absolutely nothing about my family other than the pedigree I posted. My dad is 71 and cannot remember much, but, I am going to see my Aunts this summer in Dixon Ca and will try to see if they remember anything.

Hola Ladies ,I too have Gutierrez and de La Torre lines. The Gutierrez line hangs out in the region of Los Altos -Jalostotitlan,San Miguel el Alto and San Julian . Jalos lies near Tepatitlan. I have an ancestor Clemente de La Torre Ledesma (which are two names put together some time back) was from Tepatitlan and his offspring which some stayed with de La Torre.

Gutierrez y de La Torre
Dear Cindy:
I did not see a Clementina De La Torre in my records, but then 1873
might have been a little too early for her. I have asked my in-laws about
their family and they always say oh, I can't remember much, but then if you
just listen while they talk, they end up telling you little clues about your
families past. Also, have you looked at the border crossings on
ancestry.com? Sometimes who families, extended families, crossed together.
It usually describes the person's physical appearance and sometimes has
pictures. Really neat. Also, the family search labs has the 1930 Mexican
Census. I do not know about the Acatic records, but it is worth a try.
Good luck.

Gutierrez y de La Torre
Dear Maureen,
My father was the first one of his family to come to the states, that was in 1956. His father died when he was 7 and his mother died in 1964 in Acatic. His 2 brothers followed here, and my Aunts only live here part time, and that only started a few years ago. My fathers cousins are here, but I know nothing about them other than they came in the 1970-1980's. I am hoping to get more info this summer, but, I have to keep my fingers crossed on that one.

Dear Cindy:
Then the Mexican Census in 1930 will be what you might want to look at.
It may show your mother's and father's families. From there you will know
the grandparents names. Also looking at the LDS microfilms if available for
your mother's and father's births may also list the grandparents on both
sides. I put in Acatic Mexico in familysearch. I am not sure if this is
your Acatic or if there is another Acatic in Mexico. You may want to find
out then order the microfilms, if this is your Acatic. See links below:

Gutierrez y de La Torre
Hi,
I, too, have Gutierrez and de la Torre from Tepatitlan. I am a
Romero. My paternal grandparents were Castulo Romero and Sophia de la
Torre. My maternal grandparents were Jose de la Torre and Elena
Romero. My paternal great grandparents were Manuel Romero and Maria
Marcelina de la Torre. Marcelina's parents were Fernando de la Torre
and Maria Gutierrez, c. 1830. Manuel Romero's parents were Serapio
Romero and Petra Pena. All were born in Tepatitlan.
Great uncle's & aunts include Adolpo, Leopold, and Beatriz de la
Torre. On the Romero side there was Marcos, Serapio, Jose, Maria
Luisa, Maria de Jesus, and Abigail Romero.
I have all the right names and location, but that's all I have. I
don't know the ranches they lived on. Other names in the family are
Navarro, Franco, Martin, Lopez, Gonzalez.
I also have a picture of my father in Guadalajara with his cousin
Esperanza. I haven't figured out how she fits in.
My father was born in 1907 in Tepatitlan and came to the US in 1923.
He, his brother and sister are all dead so I can't ask them
questions. I don't know any relatives in Mexico or other parts of
the US except my first cousins, and they are as much in the dark as I
am.
Do any of my family members fit into your families? I have my gedcom
posted on NuestrosRanchos, but it needs updating.

Dear Linda:
I have a record for a Jose Serapio son of Manuel Romero and Marcelina de
La Torre. The grandparents were Serapio Romero and Petra Pena and Fernando
De La Toree and Maria Gutierrez. Would you like it? It is from LDS film #
0218468 batch C603723.
