How could I obtain the birth certificate of my father, born in Sombrerete, Zac. and baptized at the parroquia de San Juan Bautista?
I have recently been asked for nearly US$200, which I find excessive.
Anybody? Please help!
In my own opinion, $200 USD is too much. The actual birth certificate should cost anywhere between $20-30 USD plus "person's time" & mailing cost.
The ideal scenario, would be if you had relatives in Sombrete and if they could do the process of requesting the Birth Certificate for your Father and then mail it to you. This is what my relatives have done when they need orginal Mexican birth certificates.
Your other option would be seeking advise or guidance at your local Mexican Consulate, they should be able to help you out.
