I have a 1648 Census of Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico which is 20 leguas from Fresnillo, Zacatecas.
As well as a census of Rancho Carboneras, which is 5 leguas from Fresnillo. Zacatecas, Mexico.
Attached is the census. Can someone help me on my ancestors "Joan Angon" who is listed first on the list of the Valparaiso Census in regards to why is he listed as first on the list and did he own a ranch right there?
His son Esteban Angon is listed first on the Rancho Carboneras ranch that is 15 leguas away from Valparaiso.
Ok...so here in familysearch file of Huejuquilla El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico is a 1632 - 1700 Cofradia archive. I already read it and it is like a diary of Joan Angon's ranch starting in 1632 where there is a Cofradia called, "La Purisma de La Limpia Concepcion." Midway through the archive is then shows Esteban Angon owning a Estancia "Rio Chico." Today Rico Chico is at the spot where Rancho Carboneras would had been in 1648.
My question is about Joan Angon? Did he own a rancho at Valparaiso or did he "own" Valparaiso in 1648? Today at the plaza of Valparaiso there is a church called "La Purisma De La Concepcion." I wonder if that was the Cofradia that was a Joan Angon's rancho as mentioned in the 1632 - 1700 archive? Can someone help me about ownership in 1648 at Valparaiso?

Note: One Legua = one hours walk by foot. By car today that would be 8 - 10 minutes.
