Hello Everyone:
I'm new to the group and I'm excited to find people researching the same area that I'm researching. I'm looking for Parish records for Toribio, Zacatecas. I found the marriage record for Tomas Moreno, born 1869 and his wife, Florncia Lira, born 1872.The marriage took place in Rio Grande, Zacatecas, but it says they were from Toribio. I've found Parroquia de la Inmaculada Concepcion in Toribio, but on the Parrocos en Calera website, it says this parish started in 1993. I've looked in Family Search for the parish and can't find it. I've also looked in neighboring parish records, to see if it could be combined with another parish, but couldn't find anything there either. Does anyone know where I could find birth or marriage records for Toribio, Calera, Zacatecas prior to 1873?
Thank you,
Madelaine
Parish records for Toribio,
This is not the answer you requested but I did find this tidbit
Research Tips
It is important to note that Zacatecas was part of Nueva Galicia and thus the bishop for the state in prior to 1863, when the diocese of Zacatecas was erected, sat in Guadalajara. Because many church records in Zacatecas were destroyed during the Mexican Revolution, records in Guadalajara, particularly marriage dispensations can be pivotal in research.
It also sounds as if Toribio was Hacienda Toribio and not a town.

Parish records for Toribio
Thank you for the information and for the e-mail. I'll look for the image that goes with the birth record for Maria Ysabel Moreno Hernandez and see is she might be a sibling.
I appreciate your effort.
