In reviewing the digital copy of an indexed baptism, the priest indicated that the names of the parents and the grandparents paternos and maternos were located in the "libro reservado," Checking several pages in front of and behind this record, I could not locate another record in which the priest referred to the "libro reservado." This record was indexed and the indexer listed the names of the parents and the grandarents, which I have located in other records, however there is a discrepancy with the surname of the maternal grandmother.
"México, Aguascalientes, registros parroquiales, 1620-1962," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-266-11811-102828-20?cc=1502404… : accessed 18 September 2015), Aguascalientes > Asunción de María > Bautismos 1861-1862 > image 470 of 504; parroquias Católicas, Aguascalientes (Catholic Church parishes, Aguascalientes).
If, as the record is indexed, Jose Pedro is the son of Franciso Luebano and Cleofas Prieto, then his marriage record indicates that he was the hijo legtm of Francisco Luebano y Cleofas Prieto, so I don't think I am looking for a book of baptisms for "hijos naturals."
I'm hoping that someone can direct me to the location of the "libro researvdo," and offer an understanding of this term.
Thank you,

I'm wondering if it would be quicker to write a letter to the parish priest at Asuncion de Maria to inquire about the libro reservado. You can easily find the addesss on Google.
Libro Reservado
Hi Renee,
I don't know what a libro reservado is, but, the record you're looking for is here:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-266-11811-103746-23?cc=1502404…
Jose Pedro is listed as being born in Rancho de la Trinidad, hijo legitimo de D. Francisco Luebano y de Da. Cleofas Prieto. Abuelos Paternos, D. Mateo Luebano y de Da. Manuela Moreno. Abuelos Maternos, D. Santiago Prieto y de Da. Gertrudis Castaneda. Padrinos, D. Jose Maria Perez y de Da. Petronila Esparza.
You mention a discrepancy with the surname of Da. Gertrudis Castaneda, but, do not mention the discrepancy. I'm guessing that she also uses the surname Lopez, which, is the last name of her mother, Michaela Lopez.

Thank you Christopher. That is the record I sought, it appears to have been entered twice, once with the family and once without - hard to believe I read right over that entry on the proceeding page. The discrepancy was exactly as you state, Da. Gertrudis Castaneda was identified as Da. Gertrudis Lopez. I'm hoping that you are related to this family, since you knew that Lopez was the name of her mother MIcaela, yes?
Thank you for your help.

Hi Renee,
No, I'm not related to this family. I just looked at the marriage of D. Santiago Prieto and Da. Gertrudis Castaneda, so it was just a guess that she was going to use her mother's last name of Lopez, although, she could've also used her grandmother's name of Esparza too. Actually, I just looked and there is a Gertrudis Esparza married to a Santiago Prieto, so, that's probably also the same person as Gertrudis Castaneda.
