Subject: [Nuestros Ranchos] Rosario Enriquez
Dear Rosa:
I could not come up with anything either for Rosario and Trinidad's
marriage. We might estimate that they were married when Trinidad was 15 or
sixteen years of age. This may or may not be true, but it was common for
girls to marry around that age. That would put the marriage around 1909.
If you know they were of the Catholic faith and hopefully they were married
in Jalostotitlan, then your best bet is to find your nearest LDS history
center and order the Catholic marriages film 1905-1913 # 279310 Jalos.
Review the film and if it is not there try 1913-1924 279311. There are also
civil marriage records, but they appear to be one month of one year each, so
it would take more $$$$ and more time. Also, since the marriage was in the
early 1900's I have noticed that many of the early 1900 films have not been
batched yet, so it would be near to impossible to find a marriage reference
online for them. Mind you this is a long shot, but it may be your best bet.
I have done s
ome of my research in this manner and sometimes I am overwhelmingly lucky
and other times very disappointed.
If you need help in finding more film numbers. Go to the familysearch
site main page, click on "library" link at the top of that page and then
"library catalog", choose "placename" search and put in Jalostotitlan part
of Mexico. Click on the links for civil or church records and then "view
film notes" button on the top right. It will give you all the films that
might be ordered from Jalos.
Good luck
Maureen
Research Dig. Vol 35 Issue 7 Antonio Gonz. & Juliana De La Torre
Dear John:
Thank you, I already have that marriage referenced, but have not ordered the film yet to make sure that Antonio and Juliana are the correct ones. Thus I do not have the marriage date in my GEDCOM. The Tepa film is on my wish list. I am planning a trip to SLC possibly in the spring and it will definitely be one I will look into.
Thank you again.
Maureen
