Hi, All:
I had gotten some information from the LDS Family Search Site, on the
International Genealogical Index, IGI, and had used it to guide my research
and to add to my ancestral chart I put on this site. It is in regards to
the Martin del Campo family that I have been researching in Jalisco. What
the IGI record showed was basically a Tomas Martin del Campo, who was the
son of Tomas Martin del Campo and Nieves Muniz, with her parents shown as
Ynes Muniz and Ysidra Alcala. What I found in a microfilm record was the
following, which shows a different name than Ysidra ALCALA, though Alcala
may be one of her names, such as her mother's or father's and the record I
found shows the other name she used interchangeably. Well, here's the
record:
LDS Family History Library Film No. 38480; Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico;
Santuario de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe parish records; Bautisimos
1855-1862:
Tomas Martin del Campo, baptized 10-29-1857 in the parish church of the
Santuario de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, Guadalajara, born 10-28-1857,
legitimate son of Tomas Martin del Campo and Niebes Muniz; paternal
grandparents: Alejandro Martin del Campo and Tomasa Romero; maternal
grandparents: Ynes Muniz and Maria Ysidra CASILLAS.
So, Ysidra may have been both Ysidra Alcala and Casillas, but I don't know
that yet. As far as I can tell now, it may have been misread by the person
who extracted the information that was put on the IGI.
In any case, other than this particular surname, I have verified the parents
of both Tomas Martin del Campo and Nieves Muniz to place me a little further
along in my progress. I am very relieved to have finally made some headway
in this family. I had gotten the film hoping to find his brother's baptism,
Ismael Martin del Campo's, who is my direct ancestor, but he was not on that
one, perhaps born earlier than I had calculated.
Take care, everyone, and good luck in your searching!
