Are you a good ancestor?

Thank you all, but you are making me blush.  I can't say that I started off as organized as I am now--  much of the credit goes to Kitty and Rich Cortez, my primos.  Kitty showed me how she organized her records, and she's even better than I am.  She updates her family group sheets with a "doc" notation next to each name when she has a document for that event.  I've just about finished updating my binders, in preparation for my trip to Utah.

 

Again, my first trip to Utah was 2 years ago, and Kitty and Rich met me there and showed me
the ropes.  They are so skilled and generous.  I wouldn't have survived my SLC Family History Library trip without them.

 

I also have to say that the numerous cousins I have met over the years also have helped me, so whatever I've learned has been wholly dependant on their kindness. 

 

The Southern California Ranchos meeting was a great success, thanks to Olivia and to all who came.  I know I was in my element, seeing how we all shared what we had (John Gonzalez, I'll send you the copies this weekend).  I know that everybody contributed, and I'm sure we'll do it again, soon.  Maybe this time we'll have it at a restaurant, so Olivia can join us.  The food and hospitality were wonderful. 
Thanks again, Olivia and Al.  All of the participants were so friendly, and I was glad to share a few pointers I learned through experience.   My pics are in an album on the Nuestro
Ranchos website, with a members-only restricted access.

 

Finally, I would like to say thanks to my primos, Joseph and Arturo.  The new website will help bring Ranchos to another level, and I'm proud to be a part of that.

 

Gee, this isn't an acceptance speech, really.

I agree wholeheartedly with Peggy and Joseph.  The passion and dedication Rosalinda pours into her research is truly awesome.  Her organizational skills are something for all researchers to aspire to.  If your families are like mine, not too many take an interest in genealogy, but many will come around asking  family
questions when the need arises.  I'm sure Rosalinda's family benefits greatly from her efforts.  She truly deserves the award for "Ancestor of the Year"

Rosalinda has been a great inspiration to me and a very very giving
individual when it comes to helping. Also if it wasn't for her I
wouldn't even know that I was related to 1/2 (half) of Southern
California. Hijola there sure are a lot of Ba�uelos all over the place
in S. Cal.
