I have some new info on Diego de Estrada who was married to Antonia Gomez de Espejo Velasco.
The documents are from a marriage dispensation for Manuel Avino & Maria de Jesus Cortes. Maria was the daughter of Yfigina de Estrada and Yfigina was the daughter of Diego de Estrada. It seems to mention that Diego's mother was Ana de la Barba.
Could someone please help with the translation.
Thx,
Joe

Name Change from Gomez de Estrada to Rubio and futher info
I descend from Diego de Estrada 1672-1752 and Antonia Gomez de Espejo 1674-1722.
Their son Juan Gomez de Estrada 1697-1744 m.1729 Maria Rubio 1709-1785.
Their son Juan Manuel Gomez de Estrada 1730-1781 m.1752 Francisca de Puga 17??-17??.
Sometime in the mid 1750's Juan Manuel Gomez de Estrada began using his mother's maiden name, Rubio. This name change begins to appear on their daughter's, Juana Gertrudis, baptismal entry in Tepatitlan dated 1759.
Thereafter, two of their sons began using the last name Rubio.
Joseph Domingo Rubio 1757-17?? m.1787 Ana Dolores Padilla 17??-17??
Jose Manuel Rubio abt.1764-18?? m.1785 Maria Josefa Franco 17??-1832.
Another son, Jose Ylario 1756-17??, continued to use Gomez de Estrada. He married Maria del Rosario Velsquez in 1779.
I descend from Jose Manuel Rubio and Maria Josefa Franco.
These Rubio's lived in Mariche and Rincon de Velsquez within the Tepatitlan area.
Their son was Jose Francisco Rubio 1785-18?? m.1814 Juana Maria Agapita Placencia 1796-1834.
To which they had Jose Gertrudis Rubio 1823-19?? m. Maria Eucevia Yniguez 1823-18??.
Jose Gertrudis Rubio seems to have picked up stakes and traveled below Lake Chapala. Some of his sons, one being Jose de la Luz Rubio 1854-1910? m.1879 Daria de Anda 1864-1899, went with him.
Jose de la Luz and Daria de Anda had children in Tizapan el Alto, Tuxcueca, Teocuitatlan and finally arriving in Atenguillo had their last three children there.
Jose Gertrudis Rubio and the rest of the family went to Talpa de Allende, where some Rubios still remain.
In Atenguillo, Jose de luz Rubio bought a 11 square mile ranch, Mestinas, on the plateau.
Jose de la Luz died around 1910 after drinking a bad batch of pulque.
The ranch was managed by his brother Marcos Rubio b.1849 for Jose de la Luz' son Jose Trinidad Rubio 1896-1970 (my paternal grandfather) until he was of age.
Jose Trinidad Rubio had lots of trouble dealing with some other local ranchers. There were repeated raids on his cattle and so forth.
One strange note: There was a group of de Estradas living in Atenguillo. They claimed to be related to the Rubios, but know one knew how or why. The Estradas were fiercely loyal to my grandfather. They were valiant, to the point of psychotic, killing/stealing rival ranchers cattle, engaging in gun battles, marring women of rival families (perhaps absconding with them)and even killings.
Eventually my grandfather moved to Nayarit in the 1950's. Not much was made there and they began coming to the states in the 1960's. Jose Trinidad Rubio died 1970 in Fullerton, Ca. Three months before my b-day.
Not knowing my grandfather, not being related to other Rubios I would encounter and the fact that this family is rather clashish and hush hush about the past is what made me investigate the family tree. Being a former employee of private investigation agency helped me piece together the tree with virtually no help up until the Diego Estrada block wall. Of which I am very grateful to all here for there assistance in helping me complete my tree so far.
Diego Estrada Bocanegra y Muñoz de la Barba
Diego Estrada Bocanegra y Muñoz de Barba is the illegitimate son of Pedro Estrada Bocanegra and Ana Muñoz de la Barba.
Josefa Muñoz de la Barba and Juan De la Torre Ledesma y Palafox are the parents of Maria Ledesma (Aka Maria Gonzalez) and Antonia Ledesma. Both daughters are illegitimate as Juan de la Torre Ledesma is legally married to Isabel Marquez y Martin del Campo. It's taken many years to finally put this line together.
Ana Muñoz de la Barba and Josefa Munoz de la Barba are the daughters of Francisco Muñoz de las Barba and Catalina Gonzalez-Rubio (aka Gutierrez-Rubio)
Francisco Muñoz de la Barba is the son of Juan Muñoz de la Barba and Ann de Espindola II
Catalina is the daughter of Captain Francisco Gutierrez-Rubio and Anna Gonzalez Florida.
Thanks to Joe, Ruben, Simona, Steven (Paco) and Alexandro for helping with important pieces of the puzzle. It was a fantastic feeling to finally add the final pieces and put them together the past two days. Steven and Alejandro's contribution came many years ago but without their two cents I wouldn't been in position to put it together. Ruben's piece took me back another generation, and then Joe's piece (dispensa) added yet another generation. Going back and looking at my notes and a few dispensas on these families brought it all together.
Thanks again,

Manuel Avino & Maria de Jesus Cortes.
Dear Joe,
How are you related to Manuel Alvino de Losa & Maria de Jesus Cortes de Arteaga y Estrada?
I have more on their lines.
Thanks again,
Rick A. Ricci
Bartolome Losa and Clara Loza
Bartolome de Losa And Clara de Loza are first cousins twice. Their fathers are brothers and their mothers are sisters.
Bartolome is the son of Alejo Losa and Maria Ledesma (AKA Maria Gonzalez). (Bartolome is raised in Jalostotitlan)
Clara is the daughter of Antonio de Loza and Antonia Ledesma. (Clara is raised in Tepatitlan)
Since Maria Gonzalez (Maria Ledesma) and Antonia Ledesma are the daughters of Josepha Munoz de la Barba, and Josepha is the sister of Ana Munoz de la Barba, the mother of Diego Estrada, if we can find Josefa's parents from the clues that we have, then we will also have Ana's parents.

Diego Estrada
Dear Joe,
I just now saw your post on Diego Estrada. I descend from Diego Estrada and Maria Antonia Gomez de Espejo Velasco. Your information does indicate that Diego's mother is Ana de la Barba. Back then the complete surname was Muñoz de la Barba.
Thank you for sharing,
Rick A. Ricci
