Greetings everybody,
I am trying to figure out what pages 598-600 in the 'Padrones 1772-1773, 1784' are talking about... It is recording something to do with the 'curato' in San Cristobal de la Barranca, Jalisco and is stamped with a sello quarto, un quartillo. My 5th great-grandfather, Dn Bartholome, along with a few others, is named in two of the paragraphs and his signature appears 3 times. I do not know what role he and the others are playing, and I would appreciate if anyone could help me to understand the document.
This link is to page 599 of 879 in the 'Padrones 1772-1773, 1784' where he is first mentioned in the second paragraph:

Thank you!

Help w/ Document in 1776-77
Image 597 says it is a folder regarding the 1778 Map of the Village of Nuestra Señora de Purificación and its jurisdiction. Three trustworthy neighbours checked a map drawn by Joseph Camarena and the distances stated there and gave their opinions.

Help w/ Document in 1776-77
Victoriano,
After looking at a table of contents, it seems image 597 belongs to a different set of documents about Nuestra Señora de Purificación... (which doesn't seem to be nearby). The documents about San Cristobal de la Barranca begin at image 598 and go to 600. Thank you for your help, that makes the documents a bit more understandable. Their roles then, are that of declarantes/testigos.
