Does anyone know where I could find a padron from the late 1700s listing the inhabitants of Mezquital del Oro, Zacatecas? Specifically, a rancho named El Temascal. I have looked a bit in certain areas of 'Padrones 1772-1784 Arzobispado de Guadalajara', but cannot find anything for it. I'm aware it may have been named something different, but I am almost positive it would have the words 'real', 'del Oro', 'San Juan del Mezquital' or the like.
Does anyone know what jurisdiction modern Mezquital del Oro and nearby ranchos fell under in the 1700s? The closest padron listing I have found is of the community exactly to the North-West, which is currently called Garcia de la Cadena, but was then La Estanzuela. It seems to me that Mezquital del Oro or Real del Oro should be listed along with Estanzuela as its only a couple miles away and there is no closer town... but nothing.
Thanks in advance for any help!
