Hi everyone, I want to share something I discovered today. I found a gap in the records for Arandas in batch no. C602951 covering baptisms from 1768-1785 (film no. 279526). I had been looking for a relative born in 1785, but her name did not come up in searches at FamilySearch. I finally decided to enter the batch number in the search, and set the year to 1785. No records were returned (nor for 1784). When I set the year to 1783, it returned 145 results.
When I found this out, I opened the image file for that film and began to read each record, beginning where I thought she would be. I finally found her, Maria Vicente Roque Guzman Ornelas, baptized 2 Aug 1785, born 19 Jul 1785 in El Tule.
I will be going back to check other gaps in ancestral families. With the images available on line, this is easier than it used to be.
Hope this helps you with your familial gaps.

I had a similar problem in the Bautismos for Encarnacion de Diaz, Jalisco. In the link for the images to Bautismos 1854-1866 it says "1854-1860". The images for 1860-1866 were put up, but not indexed and the link is wrong. I assume that with such a massive task of uploading and indexing, batches will be missed in one way or another. I alerted Feedback at Family Search and they said they would let their engineers know of the problem.

Emilie,
Thank you for following up. My Great Grandfather, Francisco Martin(ez) was born "about 1864" in Encarncion de Diaz, Jalisco. I ha I have failed so far, to discover his baptisimo. Perhaps what you uncovered is the reason.

Check for gaps in IGI batch files
Emilie,
The Encarnación de Díaz links are listed the same way the microfilms have
always been named. Meaning both 1155474 and 1155475 were named Bautismos
1854-1860 and are likely in the same link and have all the years needed.
Since two different films have the same name they probably can't make two
seperate links and instead we have to search through one big link. There are
1660 records for the link to Bautismos 1854-1860 and I see images for 1854
as well as 1863. 1863-1866 starts at image 1599.
To see how films are named and see their corresponding film number for
Encarnacion you can look at both of the following links
