I am helping this person who contacted me via the internet asking for assistance. This is her Original e mail to me and the info she provided me
Hi David,
I dont know if you can help me, but I thought I would give it a try. My gg grandfather is Policarpio Serna born in 1863 not sure where he was born, but was baptized in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, and married Nicolasa Garcia. Policarpo's parents are Juan Serna and Jacinta Alvillar. I have searched on Familysearch.org and have not found any records for them, needless to say I am at a road block. Policarpo had two Brothers Santos and Marcial, I could not find anything of them in Mexico either. Census records say they were born in Texas, but I do'nt believe them. I have found
alot of errors on them especially for those who didnt speak english.
I am hoping your family could some how be tied in.
Thank you,
Lisa
1863 Juarez, Chih. Baptismal Info
The document is hard to read. These are my guesses:
Child: Policarpo
Parents: Juan Serna & Jacinta Abrillas (or Alvillas)
Paternal GParents: José María Serna & Manuela Montoya
Maternal: Trinidad Abrillas (or Alvillas) & Francisca Frienzo (or Tienzo)
Godparents: Francisco Morales & Francisca F---pi---
In the following page there is a record where the godmother seems to be Andrea Albillas, but in the record you are checking it looks more like Abr...
Compare with the word Febrero in the record below the one you are checking (see the B and the R's in Febrero). Also two records above there seems to be a Florentina Abrillar, and to the right of the record an Albino Fuentes, so you can compare how they wrote those surnames.
I think you need to find more records from that family to clarify which were the actual surnames.

I agree with José María Serna & Manuela Montoya but it is not Albrillas. It
just looks like it is. It is Alvillas. Francisca Frienzo (or Tienzo) could
actually be Fierro which is somewhat common in Chihuahua.
