Me, too! With onions (white, diced) and sharp cheddar cheese! With
refried beans that mound up and with sopa de arroz! Yummmmm-ohhhh!!!!
I can not make them to taste like home at all. Now that I'm diabetic, I
can't eat them at all now. :( On Apr 7, 2006, at 3:03 AM, Josie T.

Josie -
I actually knew Sandra before she became famous. She grew up and lived
in "Pilsen", a heavily Hispanic neighborhood in Chicago. I used to go
to poetry readings she was in and others - there is a strong artsy
community in Pilsen, some Hispanic, some not. She dated a guy I worked
with for awhile. I used to work in a community based organization for
many years....It gives me great pleasure to watch one of our own make
it - and make it under their terms....

Esperanza,
Isn't it great to see our Mexican-American people do good? She was
very gracious, down-to-earth, and funny when i met her - although she
had the flu (like a flu could stop her!).
