I am going through defuntos of Zacatecas in the PARS website and I came across an interesting one.
A person by the name of "Simon De Los Angeles" who is originally from Pampagna, Phillipines that passed away in Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico in 1676.
His occupation is "Filigranero" which is a "jeweler."

Interesting, although born in the Philipines I am sure he was Spanish though. Natives from Asia under the Spanish were christianized rarely mentioned their origins, its said that in Mexico specially in Nueva Galicia there were many Asians that were brought during the colonial times but with Spanish names there was (and still is) no way to tell were they came from. Sometimes I wonder when I see country folks with really heavy mongoloid features if they (their features) belong to the Native American blood (Default) or descended from those brought from South Asia.

One of my Dad's brothers is tall and gets confused for Chinese because of the way he looks.
Among my Dad's brothers and sisters, they all have different looks. One looks Chinese, but has green eyes. Another sister has pitch black hair that is straight, big blue eyes and a pinkish complexion. Another sister looks totally the opposite. Dark Complexion. Another Brother has dark short curly blonde hair, big blue eyes and a light complexion.
All of them were born in the ranchos in Mexico. The father that has same name as me, I was told that he had blue eyes.
There is a woman in our town who is a distant relative of mine. She was born and raised in our town in Mexico. But she looks unusual. She has a broad squarish face but she looks Asian too. And none of her parents or grandparents are Asian. Way up the ranchos of Mexico.

My father from Jerez told me that they had "chinos" in their area, but I think they were probably descendants of Filipinos brought there in ships by the Spanish traders. His grand-father was known as "el frances" because he had blue eyes, but I found no French in his lines, only espanoles, mestizos, and mulattos. We have very diverse ancestry.
