Los Aguayo's de Nochistlan

Por XCruzGomez | 12:18 PM MST, Mié Mayo 04, 2016

Does anyone have any information on the Aguayo's of Nochistlan. In particular Jose Maria Aguayo born abt. 1815 - deceased abt 1838. I'm trying to find his parents. I have been searching for months and have hit a solid brick wall.

Jose Maria Aguayo (b. abt 1815) and Tereza Gomez (b. abt 1817) had a daughter Feliciana Aguayo (b. 1837). I was able to find, with a little more detective work) That Tereza Gomez remarried. She married Margarito Gomez as Tereza de Aguayo "vuida" in 1839. I assume Jose Maria Aguayo then died abt. 1838.

There are "testigos" in Feliciana Aguayo and Longino Gomez marriage certificate (5/12/1859) with the names Pedro Aguayo and Sebastiana Tolentino but I have hit a brick wall on those name too.

I did find several Jose Maria Aguayo's born around that time in Nochistlan but without any connection it's hard for me to add to my ancestry line. Any help would be appreciated.

Gracias Primos

Xochitl, as you noted there…

Xochitl, as you noted there are various Jose Marias.  I'd be happy to share what I have, but this forum is limiting.  please email me at edjeanne0407@gmail.com.  Thanks.  Ed Nissen Padilla.

Los Aguayo's de Nochistlan

Hi Xochitl,
I don't believe that the Teresa de Aguayo married to Margarito Gomez is the same person as Teresa Gomez married to Jose Maria Aguayo. The marriage record for Feliciana Aguayo states that both her parents are alive and in their marriage IM Jose Maria provides his consent for his daughter to marry.
"México, Zacatecas, registros parroquiales, 1605-1980," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-15191-35482-9?cc=1804458 : accessed 6 May 2016), Nochistlán > Nochistlán > Información matrimonial 1859 > image 288 of 324; paróquias Católicas, Zacatecas (Catholic Church parishes, Zacatecas).

The 'padrinos' for the marriage of Feliciana Aguayo are listed as Gregorio Gomez and Ramona Salazar. This couple married 11 Nov 1857 in Nochistlan. You may want to follow this couple and see where it leads.

You're right, I do have that record in my files but I guess I didn't read it right. That branch in my tree is confusing because of the intermarrying between the families. Margarito Gomez and Teresa De Aguayo show up on the birth certificates of Feliciana Gomez married to Longinos Gomez with the same Abuelos Paternos. I'm going to take a break from this branch. Maybe some fresh eyes in a month will help me. Thanks.

Xochitl,

if you kinda know when Feliciana de Aguayo was born, you can look for the baptism and that will probly tell you who her grandparents are

You're right, her baptism/birth certificate could possibly state her abuelos. I could not find her baptism or birth certificate with the straight facts (mother/father/daughter). I don't have a definite date of birth either, her marriage certificate states that she was 22 years old when she married in 1859 and I'm not sure in what pueblo she was born. I may have to go through and read each record one by one for the last year prior to the marriage and hopefully find her somehow.

Missing records

Bad news :(

Unfortunately the period where Feliciana Aguayo was born is missing - May 21, 1835 to May 10, 1837. So bummed.
