Please Trim Your Messages

I know this is an often repeated announcement around here, but since we have so many new members and the activity on the list has heated up, I figured I should repeat it.

Please, please trim your messages. When you reply to a posting via email, if you have your email set to include the message to which you are replying as part of the message, delete all but that part of the message which is necessary to provide context. Often nothing is necessary other than an appropriate subject for the reply message. When replies get posted online, they get posted along with the messages to which they are responding, so there is no need to repeat text. Such repetition makes the message very, very illegible.

Se que este anuncio es uno que repetimos mucho por estos rumbos, pero como hay tantos nuevos miembros y el nivel de actividad en la lista ha aumentado bastante, creo que es bueno repetirlo de nuevo.

Por favor, les rogamos recortar sus mensajes. Cuando respondan a un mensaje por correo-e, si su programa de correo-e incluye el mensaje al que esta respondiendo como parte de la respuesta, borre todo ese mensaje salvo la parte necesaria para dar contexto a la respuesta. Muchas veces no se necesita nada mas que poner un titulo apropriado a la respuesta. Cuando las respuestas se publican en el sitio, se publican juntos a los mensajes a cuales responden, asi que no es necesario repetir el texto. Repeticion como esa hace que el mensaje sea muy dificil de leer.
